For patients with difficulty undergoing dental treatment, Dr. Kelly Reynolds and Dr. Derrick Peck may recommend general anesthesia to ensure a safe and comfortable experience. This option allows you to sleep through your procedure, making it ideal for individuals with severe dental anxiety, special needs, or complex treatment plans.
When is General Anesthesia Recommended?
We may suggest general anesthesia for:
- Young children who are unable to stay still for treatment
- Oral surgery or complex procedures that require full relaxation
- Patients needing extensive dental work in one visit
- Individuals with a strong gag reflex that interferes with treatment
- Patients with special needs or medical conditions that make traditional dental care difficult
How General Anesthesia Works
General anesthesia is administered through inhalation or IV, placing you in a deep sleep during your procedure. To ensure your comfort after treatment, we also provide long-lasting local anesthesia so you remain numb as you wake up and recover.
Important Reminders
- Follow pre-procedure guidelines regarding eating, drinking, and medications.
- Arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you for a few hours after your appointment.
